GAIA EPICUS Parts Ways With Bassist, Seeks Replacement
October 1, 2006Norwegian power metallers GAIA EPICUS have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Right before yesterday's [Sept. 30] concert [in Mo I Rana, Norway] Hans [Åge Holmen, bass] told us he was leaving the band. This came totally unexpected to the band as we had no idea this would happen. He said he didn't have fun playing with the band anymore so he wanted out. We were hoping he would do the rest of the tour with us but he said no, so we must cancel the upcoming shows. We are very sorry about this and will do the shows once we have found a new bass player.
"If you are a skilled bass man, and think you can handle the job, then contact us!"
GAIA EPICUS recently posted a new song, entitled "New Life", at its MySpace page. The track comes off the group's upcoming third album, "Victory", tentatively due in late 2006/early 2007 via an as-yet-undetermined label. Check out the album cover art at this location. The cover painting for the CD was created by J.P. Fournier, who was also responsible for the band's first album cover, "Satrap", in 2003.
"Victory" was recorded at Top Room Studios in Lunner, Norway. The band, who recently parted ways with Sound Riot Records, has already received offers from several record labels that wish to release the new album, but nothing has been signed yet.
